307th Combat Aviation Battalion "Search and Destroy" Patch - The 307th Combat Aviation Battalion was formed using elements of the provisional "Phantom" Aviation Battalion. The 307th Combat Aviation Battalion arrived South Viet Nam 20 December 1967 and made their base camp at Can Tho. The battalion's was comprised of 73rd SAC Aviation Company, 147th Assault Support Helicopter Company, 199th Aviation Company, 221st Aviation Company, 235th Aerial Weapons Company, 244th SAC Aviation Company and the 271st Aviation Company. The battalion later became an Air Traffic Control Battalion and part of the 164th Combat Aviation Group. The battalion stood-down and departed South Viet Nam 30 June 1971.
